Within the project „Establishing network of governmental and non-governmental actors in the field of adult education in Sarajevo Canton“, a panel discussion on the topic „Local partnership in the function of adult education“ was held in Sarajevo, on 6th October 2020. The event was organised in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton and supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Sarajevo Canton.

Participants of the panel discussion were members of the local partnership from Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde (Ministry of Education, Pedagogical Institute, City of Goražde, Employment Office, Chamber of Economy, Association of Employers, „Emka Bosnia“ company), and representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Employment Office of Sarajevo Canton, Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, and accredited adult education providers from Sarajevo Canton.

The event aimed to present the so-called, Goražde model, as an exceptionally successful model of local partnership in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the accredited adult education providers from Sarajevo Canton. The Goražde model includes financial stimuli, available infrastructure, and professional workforce as support to creating employment opportunities. In cooperation with vocational schools and employers, measures for unemployed persons' professional development have been undertaken. Besides, formal professional education programs have been modernized in cooperation with employers, and some new educational programs have been introduced to respond appropriately to the increasing needs of the exporting industry.

At the end of the panel discussion, all participants filled in a needs analysis questionnaire, whose results will be of importance in defining strategic priorities of developing institutional partnership in adult education in Sarajevo Canton.

The project „Establishing a network of governmental and non-governmental actors in the field of adult education in Sarajevo Canton“ is financed by DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, and implemented by the Association ALDI Goražde.
