Education, Employment, Financing, Cooperation: Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a Study Visit to Slovenia

With the purpose of establishing and improving cross-sectoral cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, organised a study trip to the Republic of Slovenia, from 11th to 15th of November.

Participants of the study trip were hosted by the Mayor of Ajdovščina Municipality

Republic of Slovenia, as a member of European Union, achieves significant results in adult education projects. Apart from the great efforts of local adult education providers, one of the key factors of success is raised awareness on shared responsibility for development of adult education among diverse departments.

With the purpose of establishing and improving cross-sectoral cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, organised a study trip to the Republic of Slovenia, from 11th to 15th of November.  

Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consisted of representatives of four cantons of the Federation of B&H (Una-Sana Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canon, Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde, Sarajevo Canton), Brčko District B&H, and Institute for Adult Education of Republic of Srpska.

Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Goražde expressed particular interest and motivation for further improving the field, thus its representatives on the study trip were: the Prime Minister of the Government of BPCG, Ms Aida Obuća, and three ministers: Minister of Education, Youth, Science, Culture, and Sport, Mr Arman Bešlija, Minister of Justice, Governance, and Labour Relations, Ms Nataša Danojlić, and Minister of Finances, Mr Mirsad Agović.

As part of the visit, participants held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport of Slovenia, Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of Slovenia, adult education centers in Ljubljana, Črnomelj, and Ajdovščina, the Mlinotest company in Ajdovščina, and the delegation was also hosted by the Mayor of the Ajdovščina Municipality, one of the fastest growing municipalities in Slovenia.
