Appropriate positioning of adult education in public is increasingly needed, and all actors in the field of adult education are directly or indirectly responsible for it. Their cooperation with media is of a great importance in the process as the media are, with their reach and impact, a key factor in creating public opinion.
Supporting the improvement of working processes of adult education providers in the field of cooperation with media and promotion of adult education, DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina published the „Guide for Promotion of Adult Education in Media“ whose author is Prof.Dr Lejla Turčilo from the Faculty of Political Sciences of University of Sarajevo.
Director of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Dr. Emir Avdagić in his foreword states that the guide represents „.... a number of practical advices that each actor can adjust to its needs and practice of communicational activities, and is a result of the author's long-term academic work in the field of communicology, as well as application of the knowledge and experience in practice through many projects including great number of projects in adult education.
According to the recent research, adult education is not often recognised by media as an important topic to be presented to the public. Thus, the guide provides practical instructions how to use tools, available to everyone, in order to change this practice of media.
The guide is published electronically, and is free to download here.
DVV International began its work in Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2000.
